Howard
Patton Award: is given to one
or more persons who epitomize the spirit
of organized camping leadership and whose
work has benefited campers and camping.
This award is given in loving memory of
Howard Patton. Howard knew every aspect
of camping and was the "guiding light" in
many camp directors' careers.

Harold
Breene Award: in
Recognition of Continued Dedication to the
Development and Education of Youth through
Camping.
This award is given to a person or
camp actively promoting positive youth development
in a unique and creative camp environment.
It will be given to a person or camp that
is helping young people discover and explore
their talents, interests and values while
developing positive self-esteem and healthy
relationships.

Special Award: Given to
someone who, through their dedication and
hard work has helped the NJ Section by support
the mission of the ACA to enrich the lives
of children, youth and adults through the
camp experience.

Legends
of Camping Award: given annually
at the SCOPE dinner during the Tri-State
Camp Conference.
Purpose: To honor leadership
in the profession of summer camping,
recognizing a lifetime of achievement,
mentoring, sharing and service. Recipients,
by virtue of their outstanding and extraordinary
service to the profession, being widely
respected for mentoring and sharing with
others and for their inspirational leadership
in the advancement of the camping, shall
be deemed Legends of Camping.
Qualifications:
ACA Member Camp Director from any Section;
served as director of a camp for no less
than 20 years; widely respected beyond their
own camp; mentor to camp professionals outside
their own camp, inspirational leadership
by example.
